Two Bands, 66 Shows: Underoath and Magnolia Park Dominate Florida's 2026 Touring Circuit

November 8, 2026 · World Metal Index
Atlas

As of 2026-11-08, Florida Metal Index tracks 22 Florida-connected bands with upcoming shows on the books, totaling 189 scheduled dates. Two of them — Underoath and Magnolia Park — account for 66 of those dates by themselves, or roughly 35% of all upcoming shows in our index. No other band on this list comes close to that pace, and the gap says a lot about how touring activity is actually distributed across the state's metal and metalcore scene right now.

The Top Five Are Doing Most of the Work

Underoath leads the index with 34 upcoming shows, with a next stop in Phoenix on 2026-11-09. Magnolia Park follows with 32, heading to Boston on 2026-11-11. Alter Bridge sits third with 24 dates, next playing Buffalo on 2026-11-08. Round out the top five with Anberlin (16 shows, Raleigh on 2026-11-10) and Bodysnatcher (14 shows, Little Rock on 2026-11-17).

Together, those five bands account for 120 of the 189 total upcoming shows in our index — 63.5% of all touring activity, from a list of 22 bands. After Bodysnatcher's 14, the count drops sharply to 8 for both Dark Divine and Sleeping With Sirens, a six-show cliff that marks a clear line between Florida's heaviest touring acts and everyone else.

Almost Half the List Is Barely Touring

The flip side of that top-heavy distribution: 10 of the 22 bands — 45% — have four or fewer shows currently scheduled. Five bands sit at exactly two dates: Contention, Kamelot, Lynyrd Skynyrd, The Outlaws, and Yellowcard. Two more — Less Than Jake and The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus — have just one show apiece booked in our system as of this data pull. That doesn't necessarily mean inactivity; it more likely reflects booking cycles that haven't been fully announced yet, or bands between album cycles. But it does mean the touring workload across Florida's indexed bands is concentrated in a small cluster at the top.

Metalcore Still Anchors the Scene

Genre tags confirm what regular readers of this index already suspect: metalcore is the load-bearing wall of Florida's touring scene. Eight of the 22 bands on this list — Underoath, Magnolia Park, Dark Divine, Sleeping With Sirens, Heavy//Hitter, Trivium, Wage War, and Contention — carry a metalcore tag, 36% of the list. Seven bands are tagged post-hardcore, and five carry a pop punk tag, often overlapping with the metalcore and post-hardcore acts. Deathcore shows up three times, through Bodysnatcher, Heavy//Hitter, and Psycho-Frame. Pure hard rock and southern rock — Alter Bridge, Shinedown, Lynyrd Skynyrd, The Outlaws — make up a smaller but still present slice of the touring roster.

Florida Bands, International Stages

Six of the 22 bands — more than a quarter of the list — have their next listed show outside the United States. Atlas is booked into Praha 7 on 2027-02-17, Kamelot plays Krakow on 2026-11-10, Yellowcard hits Forest, near Brussels, on 2026-11-13, and The Outlaws are in Derry on 2026-11-12. Both Contention and The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus have their next dates in Glasgow, on 2027-01-29 and 2027-03-20 respectively. For a state-level index, that's a meaningful share of bands currently playing overseas rather than domestically.

Trivium
Trivium

Closer to home, Makari stands out as the one band on this list with a next show actually in Florida — Jacksonville, on 2026-11-14 — while everyone else on the list is currently routed through cities from Phoenix to Buffalo to Baltimore. For fans wanting to catch a home-state date, that's effectively the only entry on this list pointing toward a Florida stage in the near term; check upcoming shows for the full regional schedule as it updates.

Methodology

This analysis is based on Florida Metal Index's own database of bands, shows, and venues, pulled on 2026-11-08. The 22 bands listed represent Florida-connected acts with at least one upcoming show currently logged in our system at the time of this snapshot. Show counts reflect the number of scheduled dates indexed per band as of the pull date and will change as new shows are announced or completed. Genre tags are drawn directly from each band's profile in our index and are not normalized across capitalization styles. This is first-party data unique to Florida Metal Index.
